What communications will I receive from Kin?

Kin sends communications via email and text to keep you informed about your policy, payments, and claims.

Types of communications:

  • Policy updates: You'll receive important updates regarding your policy status, coverage changes, and important renewal information. 
  • Payment alerts: We'll remind you 5-7 days before payments are due, confirm successful payments, and immediately alert you if a payment fails.
  • Action items: We'll send reminders for required inspections, document uploads, or expired payment methods.
  • Claims (home policies only): You'll get updates when we receive your claim, assign an adjuster, and receive information on each step of the process.
  • Account security: We'll notify you about password reset, contact changes, and send your One Time Password code to your phone or email when logging in. 
  • Safety Tips & Reminders: We'll occasionally send communications about ways to keep you and your family safe at home and on the road.

How we contact you:

You can control how we contact you! Important information will always be sent via email, with some reminders arriving via text. Certain notices may be sent via paper mail, depending on your state. 

Managing notifications:

You can customize most notifications in your Profile under Communication Preferences. However, you'll always receive critical policy alerts, legal notices, payment updates, and security alerts.
